Mr Oladejo Olaleye, Specialty Registrar in ENT Surgery UK and currently a PhD student at InHANSE, successfully attained the ‘Arena FIDE Master of Chess’ title on 21st February 2015. This lifetime chess title was conferred by the World Chess Federation when Dejo completed 100 consecutive chess blitz games online and maintained his rating consistently over the required 1400 Elo points. Confirmation is published on the World Chess Federation’s website: http://ratings.fide.com/card.phtml?event=8501092
Dejo has become the first Nigerian chess player to hold the ‘Arena FIDE Master of Chess’ title. This is the first step towards his goal of achieving Grand Master status in chess.
When not playing chess, Dejo’s research is on identifying diagnostic and prognostic biomarkers for human papilloma virus associated oropharyngeal cancers.
InHANSE now has a Chess Master in its ranks and congratulates him on this achievement.
