£1 Million Charity Appeal for Head and Neck and Thyroid Cancer Research
The Queen Elizabeth Hospital Birmingham (QEHB) Charity has launched a major appeal to raise £1 million to support AcceleraTED, one of InHANSE's main research programmes.
The AcceleraTED programme aims to examine treatments that are currently approved for non-cancer conditions to see if they have any activity against cancers. The programme will initially concentrate on head and neck and thyroid cancers before being rolled out to other types of cancer.
By doing this, the AcceleraTED programme aims to speed up detection of new cancer drugs and their implementation into clinical practice, hopefully bringing new treatments to patients faster.
